3rd trip to the mechanic in 2 months. I got the oil filter housing gasket replaced and it’s leaked after replacing both times after 4 weeks. The first time the gasket was just chewed up, I wonder what happened now. What a pain....

It’s a nice color though. Love the wheels too.

Ah, that’s annoying. Switched mine out and it’s been solid for over 30k now.

Nothing really fits the bill of a relatively new/cheap, comfy and fast car. My only other thoughts are cayman or new type R.

I’m barely making it 600 miles lol. Ruins any confidence I have for this when oil is dripping onto the serpentine belt..

If only it’s insides were as good as the outside.

There’s gotta be some sort of issue then. Has the motor been pretty solid otherwise?

internals have been stout. Did walnut blasting about 2 years ago. HPFP, waterpump was replaced before I got it as well as 3 injecters and rear turbo under warranty.
Technically the only “repairs” I have done is the OFHG and VC gaskets and the AC compressor which seized and ruined by serpentine belt. Everything has been preventative maintainance.
Again after this I went to look for other cars but boy is it hard to find anything that isnt an old JDM relic thats got RWD, big power, huge aftermarket, manual for a reasonable price. Mustangs arent my thing. The only thing I would consider is the new civic type R but they are $60k in aus right now (about 46k USD). Older caymans are just out of pricepoint and probably also as unreliable.

The thingy that the gasket mounts to needs to be cleaned/sanded/replaced?
That just seems like an odd part to go bad.
Good luck - pretty car!

I remember when the BMW faithful started to think the N54 would be the next 2JZ. Then the reliability factor began to rear its ugly head.

Yeh not quite yet. The issue is all the rubber and plastic components that can’t deal with all the heat cycles. The aftermarket is pretty strong though. A lot of massive single twin conversions pushing 800hp on stock internals
